That's just as true with weighted scales as it is with unweighted scales. But in most cases, a weighted grade of 3.5 is considered good, and will at least allow you to apply to most major universities. A weighted grade of 4.0 or higher is very good and will be an impressive part of any application.
There are private schools that use a 4.5 scale or weight Honors as 1.0 and AP as 2.0. In cases like this, a grade point average could surpass a 5.0! Most of us know that a 4.78 gpa is very good.

You should also have a 4.18 GPA or higher. If your GPA is lower than this, you need to compensate with a higher SAT/ACT score. For a school as selective as Harvard, you'll also need to impress them with the rest of your application.
Can you get into Harvard with a 4.7 GPA? If you don't pass their SAT and GPA requirements, they'll likely reject you without much consideration. To be safe, you should aim for the 75th percentile, with a 1580 SAT and a 4.18 GPA or higher to be above average.
